About
Concluding the Year of Our Island celebrations over two weekends, a new Festival of Light will be highlighting our iconic lighthouses, brightening our ancient capital and culminating in an illuminating spectacle in Ramsey’s Mooragh Park.
An opening evening event on Friday 8th March at The Sound Cafe will tell the Story of the Calf Lighthouses with historian Charles Guard. Learn about our history of hazardous seas, engineering marvels and sabotage. Using a wealth of illustrations and original documents, Charles will reveal long-forgotten details about these early masterpieces of Georgian technology. Tickets are £25 includes a 3 course dinner.
Having toured around the world, The Illumaphonium will be a highlight of the Ramsey event giving spectators the chance to play with this enchanting, dynamic and interactive, multi-sensory, music making installation. The Illumaphoniam is kindly supported by Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
Creative lantern and art workshops, evening market, glowing performances and theatrical lighting displays will brighten up our Island before spring comes into full bloom.
