1 and 2 Whitehouse Cottages Kirk Michael

About

The stone built semi-detached cottages were once part of the Whitehouse farm estate and still have uninterrupted views over the farm land. Built over 180 years ago they have a lot of character including exposed beams and log stoves.

Located in Kirk Michael village in the Isle of Man ,the holiday cottages are available throughout the year. Each cottage has two bedrooms,  bathroom, kitchen, garden room and lounge.

The village of Kirk Michael has quiet sandy beaches and beautiful glens nearby and is only a short drive to the fishing port  of Peel on the West coast and Ramsey in the north.

Each cottage has two bedrooms ,cottage 1 has a twin (which can be put together to make a double) and a single and cottage 2 has a double and a single bedroom. There is a trundle bed that can be used for a child. Each cottage has got a lounge, kitchen with dining area and bathroom as well as a private back garden with country views. Horses visit the back fence every day waiting for their carrot. The cosy lounges have a TV , and CD player. The fitted kitchens have lovely views overlooking the garden and hills beyond. Cottage 1 had a new garden room and bathroom built in 2017.

All bed linen and towels are provided for each week of your stay. Each cottage has a washing machine ,fridge, freezer, microwave, iron and ironing board. Both cottages have free wi-fi. There is a tumble dryer in Cottage 1.

Situated on the edge of the village the cottages are in walking distance of the general store  , pub and church. There is a bus stop a few metres away.

Douglas is a  25 minute drive away through beautiful countryside. In Douglas you can go by steam railway to the south of the island or go by the electric tram north. The island is world famous for its vintage transport systems. The tram can take you to the top of our only mountain Snaefell .

There are dark night skies at the back of the cottages which  are amazing. The cottage gardens attract many birds, the most common being the goldfinch. Hares and rabbits play in the field in the early evenings over the hedge. The Manx native sheep the Loaghtan often graze in the field accompanied by several horses. They look forward to a few carrots from time to time. A few miles up the road from Kirk Michael there is a colony of wild wallabies!!  A few years ago a few escaped from the Wildlife Park in Ballaugh and settled in the surrounding area.

Whether you enjoy walks along quiet sandy beaches collecting driftwood for the log stove or walking up the hills behind the cottages (one of which is a 'Marilyn' next status down from a Monroe) or exploring the beautiful glens, the cottages are the perfect place to get back to nature unwind and find peace and tranquility. Leave the hustle and bustle behind and come and relax .
