Whistle Hollow Cottage, Baldrine

Since 'Whistle Hollow' opened in 2000 many visitors have taken their holidays here, and quite a few return each year. The cottage is well appointed and beautifully situated in the pretty village of Baldrine. Baldrine is on the East coast of the Isle of Man between the main town of Douglas and the village of Laxey, famous for the Lady Isabella Waterwheel, the largest in the world, and the unique Snaefell Mountain Railway. It is on the Coastal Footpath and close to the unspoilt Garwick Beach.

'Whistle Hollow' has a Four-Star tourist rating. People come for many reasons: for the scenery or the motorsport, for the history, the walking or the vintage railways. New visitors comment on the diversity of the scenery and the many holiday activities of the Isle of Man, more than they can fit in during one vacation.

'Whistle Hollow' is a traditional Manx cottage of the late 1700's. The people who built it would have spoken Manx Gaelic, and may not have had any English. The cottage was sympathetically restored and fully equipped for holiday visitors in 1999. It combines old-world charm with up-to-date amenities. It is fully equipped for family holidays, and there is a comprehensive selection of guides, dvd's, etc. describing the Isle of Man's rich heritage.

The cottage sleeps 2 - 3 people (2 adults and 1 child). There is a Living Room with an open fire, a large Bedroom, a Kitchen, a Bathroom with shower and bath and a Lobby. Facilities include Central Heating, Ironing Facilities and Laundry, plus Radio, Television and Video. Children are welcome and a cot and high chair are available. Bed linen and towels are provided.
