About

Little Ballakewin Barn, adjacent to the owners' residence, is a thoroughly 21st century conversion of an 1800s stone barn in the south of the Isle of Man. Just 2.5 miles from the airport and only a 20 minute drive from Douglas.

The Barn is a tasteful, modern, self-catering holiday home registered by the Isle of Man Government as 4* with Gold Award. The Barn enjoys full amenities but benefits from the tranquillity of glorious Manx countryside. There is a bedroom with Kingsize bed and a double sofa bed. The Barn is ideal for singles, couples and families with up to 2 children who are able to share the sofa bed.

Full details are:- Entrance hall with coat-stand and mirror and small unit with comprehensive visitor information leaflets/books/maps.

Bathroom with bath and Mira shower over, large basin 2 drawer unit and WC.

Living room with settee and chair, “Freesat" flat-screen wall-mounted TV, DVD player, Bluetooth Bose "sound-dock", tables and lamps.

The adjoining kitchen has oven with grill, microwave with grill, electric induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There are numerous pots/pans/dishes and utensils. All appliances, cupboards and work surfaces are high quality.

The bedroom has an attractive brass and ivory colour 5' Kingsize bed, top quality Egyptian cotton bedding, dressing table with mirror and hairdryer and fitted wardrobe with ample storage. The bedroom also includes a double sofa-bed.

Floorings throughout (carpet and vinyl), soft furnishings, décor and artwork are high quality and tasteful.

There is a guest parking space directly alongside the Barn entrance path and ample further off-road parking. A private 1-acre field, enjoying views across farmland, located immediately alongside the Barn, is reserved for the exclusive use of barn guests and has garden furniture.

Guest Access

Little Ballakewin Barn consists of privately accessed, independent, holiday accommodation attached to the owners' residence in a quiet rural location. As well as all the modern facilities in the Barn, guests have exclusive access to the 1 acre field, by the Barn, which is equipped with garden furniture, together with ample parking also directly alongside the Barn.

Please note that we have a minimum stay of 3 nights.

Interaction with Guests

Guests can be assured of complete privacy but Manx owners David and Sharon, who live alongside Little Ballakewin Barn, are always available for information and assistance if needed.

Little Ballakewin Barn is alongside Foxdale Road near Ballasalla (the A3) 1.5 miles from Ballasalla village, just under 3 miles from Castletown and is a 20 minute drive from Douglas. Ronaldsway airport is a 5 minute drive.

Public Transport Directions

Bus route 8 passes Little Ballakewin Barn, linking Castletown with Peel, but buses to Douglas can be taken from Ballasalla, just 1.5 miles away, where you can also catch the steam train. There are several car hire desks at Ronaldsway airport, just 5 minutes by road from Little Ballakewin Barn.
