Balley Beg is a small bed and breakfast situated in a quiet residential area of lower Onchan. The guests' accommodation is situated on the ground floor and includes a bedroom with twin beds.  There is a private bathroom with a shower over the bath.  Guests can relax in their own private lounge which includes a TV and tea/coffee making facilities.  The accommodation is private and self contained and would appeal to business people as well as tourists.  As we only offer one guest bedroom, guests therefore have exclusive use of the facilities. 

Breakfast is served in the Dining area which overlooks a private, south facing rear garden which is available to guests at any time.  Breakfast can be served al fresco weather permitting. 

Balley Beg is situated close to several shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.  Onchan is surrounded by stunning coastal and rural scenery and with its excellent transport links to all parts of the island, is the ideal location to base your holiday.

Road Directions

Balley Beg is a 10 minute drive from the Ferry Terminal by following the road along the promenade for 2 .5 miles then turning left onto Harbour Road.  At the end of Harbour Road, follow the bend to the right which is Groudle Road and take the next left turning into Windermere Drive.  Buttermere is then the first turning on the left where Balley Beg No.23 can be found about 200 yards on the left.  


From the Airport follow the signs for Douglas, taking the A5 firstly to Ballasalla where you turn right at the roundabout carrying straight on until you reach a roundabout at which point take the right hand lane and turn right following the signs for Douglas. Follow this road for approximately 3 miles and proceed straight on across two roundabouts, then reaching a further roundabout at which you turn left over a swing bridge.  Proceed straight on at the next roundabout then enter the right hand lane and turn right at the next roundabout which will take you onto the Promenade for 2 .5 miles then turning left onto Harbour Road.  At the end of Harbour Road, follow the bend to the right which is Groudle Road and take the next left turning into Windermere Drive.  Buttermere is then the first turning on the left where Balley Beg No.23 can be found about 200 yards on the left.  

Public Transport Directions

Balley Beg is on the bus route from both the Airport which is a 30 minute journey and the Ferry Port which is a 15 minute journey.  

The following services operate regularly to and from the Airport and the Ferry Terminal and stop at two points near to Balley Beg i.e. Windermere Drive, Onchan or Royal Avenue Onchan.

The Bus No's for both routes are 1, 12, 1H, 2, 2A, 11 and 12A.  

The bus stop at the Airport is situated directly outside the Airport Terminal.

The bus station is about 300 yards from the Ferry Terminal on Lord Street.  Follow the road round to the left outside the Ferry Terminal.  Cross over the roundabout and the bus stops are on your left.
