Peel Shops and Antiques Trail

About

To find the best selection of antique stores on the Island, venture to the west coast and find the 'sunset city' of Peel. In addition to the famous Peel Castle and the Island's only cathedral, the quaint, winding streets of Peel also host numerous shops all within a short walk of each other. Each shop varies in style and collections, but you can be sure that they all contain many unique and interesting items that you won't find anywhere else.

In Castle Street, you will find the Old Bonded Warehouse which has three floors of quality items with everything from tiny collectables to large antique furniture. Further up Castle Street, you will find Mannin Collections which specialises in Manx antiques and specialist items, including antiquarian Manx books, paintings and coins.

From here, you will find two wildlife shops that support Manx wildlife charities and have a wide selection of Manx and wildlife-themed gifts, toys and recycled goods. One is the Manx Wildlife Shop, which is opposite Mannin Collections and the other is the Manx Wildlife Trust, which is a few minutes walk down Market Street to the left.

Afterwards, you can walk through the square and right onto Michael Street, which is where the majority of Peel's shops and amenities are located. Immediately on the left there is Celtic Gold, a jewellery shop that specialises in Manx items and it is the perfect place to find some beautiful Manx jewellery as a gift or a special treat for yourself. Further along, there is All Kinds Collectables which, as the name suggests, stocks a wide variety of items and Avril's Antiques, where you are sure to find a hidden treasure or two.

At the end of the street, there is Atholl Place Collectables, which has two floors and has a varied selection of both Manx items and valuable antiques and jewellery that are sure to pique your interest.

A trip to Peel also wouldn't be complete without a stop at the House of Manannan, which sits beside the Peel Marina and provides a fascinating look back through the history of Peel and the island's myths and legends. It also houses a gift shop, where they have an assortment of Viking-themed gifts, Celtic jewellery, books, gifts and souvenirs many handmade on the Isle of Man.
