About

Welcome to Tanroagan, a family run seafood restaurant in the heart of Douglas, the Islands capital and dining out quarter. As a long established name in seafood dining, their philosophy is fresh, seasonal and delicious food.

The restaurant offers guests seasonal a la carte menus and blackboard specials showcasing the islands finest ingredients and produce such as local lobsters, queenies, king scallops and variety of fish. If seafood is not your thing, the menu also includes delicious meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes.

From the open plan kitchen, your food is prepared and cooked to order as you watch. As part of the Tanroagan dining experience you can sample a growing selection of local drinks including Manx gin, ales, mineral waters and juices, homemade breads, hand crafted sauces and desserts. Signature dishes include Manx Crab Toasties and Fish Soup to start, Seafood Gratin or Tanroagan Fish Fingers, don't forget to leave room for dessert with their daily mini pudding or delicious selection of homemade ice creams.

Accessibility

  • Disabled Accessibility - Dining room is accessible with a small step at the front entrance. Unfortunately our toilets are not accessible to people in wheelchairs owing to stairs up and down into the toilets.

Parking & Transport

  • Off site parking - 30 minute disc parking along Ridgeway Street Monday to Saturday until 6pm. 2 hour parking along the quay in marked bays. Alternatively Shaws Brow and Lord Street Pay & Displays are within walking distance.

Road Directions

Located on Ridgeway Street. Turn off Lord Street towards North Quay (Marina). We are located on the right hand side opposite St Matthews Church.

Parking is restricted to 30 mins (Disk) between 8 and 6pm, unrestricted outside these times. There is a disabled parking bay on North Quay outside of St Matthews Church.

Pay and Display carparks nearby include Lord Street and Shaws Brow, both 5 minute walk.

Public Transport Directions

The nearest bus stop to Tanroagan is outside the Town Hall on Ridgeway Street. Alternatively, the main bus station on Lord Street is a 5 minute walk.

Sea Terminal is approximately 10 minutes walk.

Railway Statioon is approximately 5-10 minutes walk.

Airport is approximately 20 minutes by taxi or 35-45 minutes by bus.
