Description
New for 2023!Seal Rock offers a perfect base for a couple or small family looking for a conveniently located two bedroom property in the south of the Isle of Man. As a ground floor apartment with private parking to the rear, it is also well suited for those with mobility issues. The apartment is also pet friendly with two well-behaved dogs accepted. Both bedrooms also have en-suite bathrooms.
Located on Castletown promenade, enjoy panoramic views from the sunny south facing lounge out to sea and to Langness lighthouse. The lighthouse itself was built in 1880 to guide boats around the treacherous rocks that make up this peninsula which marks the most southerly point of the Isle of Man. On a stormy day it is not unusual to see the waves crashing over the promenade which makes for a great spectacle! To the front of the apartment there is a small patio area where you can sit and enjoy the sea air. This area is shared with neighbours however Seal Rock does have an exclusive patio area.
Castletown town centre, the ancient Capital of the Isle of Man is just 5 minutes walk away from the apartment. Go across the historic footbridge and you’ll find a choice of cafes, bars and restaurants. Castle Rushen, a medieval castle once home to the Kings and Lords of Mann is well worth a visit, as is the Nautical museum where you can discover the story of Peggy, the earliest known example of a British armed yacht.
Castletown also offers great public transport links should you not be travelling with a car. Close to the Isle of Man airport, buses serve the south of the island and Douglas every 20 minutes at peak times, and the Isle of Man Steam Railway offers a great day out with a station at Castletown.

Nearly 5 stars
A lovely location and well appointed but could do with some maintenance. The carpets are dirty/stained, there are some knocks on the walls and some curtain rings are broken. The kitchen is perhaps showing its age. It could be a 5 star apartment if it was given a little TLC

A break by the sea
I completed the feedback form there but everything was wonderful and we really appreciated the Welcome local bread, butter, milk and cheese.

Seal Rock Castletown
This is a very nice and well provisioned apartment that is less than 50m from the sea. Dog friendly and well situated for access to Castletown, Langness and Derby Haven. Booking with Island Escapes was quick and simple and cost was very appropriate for the quality of the apartment.

Great location
The best thing was its location right on the seafront. The flat was comfortable and warm and has good facilities. Overall it was clean but the coffee mugs and baking trays in the cupboards were quite dirty and had to be washed before they could be used. It was useful to have a dishwasher but this one was definitely showing its age! The kitchen did not have a door which was very inconvenient when something noisy was going on in there (dishwasher, see above, or cooker hood) and you were trying to listen to the radio or watch TV. Overall, we had an enjoyable week.

Accessible property with views
We all enjoyed our stay at Seal Rock, comfortable and very relaxing, especially to watch the tides and listen to the waves. Enjoyed a ride on the lovely Train a few minutes walk away. Highly recommended and mobility safe. I would suggest adding a Tumble dryer, or exchanging the Washing Machine for a Washer Dryer.

Great apartment near the beach with fab views, well equipped & all you could ask for with a dog! Only recommendation would be to perhaps have summer duvets as v warm

Delightful ground floor apartment
My husband and I absolutely loved staying in this apartment. It has beautiful views of Castletown bay and is an easy and very attractive walk into Castletown centre. The seating in the lounge is very comfortable. We really felt at home. We had a few teething problems at the beginning of our stay, but these were all rectified promptly and cheerfully by the lovely Island Escapes staff.

Great flat!
A very well equipped and comfortable flat in a great seafront location. Thorough instructions, tourist information and some supplies on arrival were particularly welcome. Not a single problem.

Great Location
We loved the apartment which is in a beautiful position. Very comfortable, spacious rooms and light and airy. Breath taking views looking out over Langness. Easy access to town and great walks. Best compliment we can give is that we will look to book this apartment again later this year.

Great Location
Great, quiet location with easy access to town for pubs & restuarants. Handy for the steam train station & buses. Property very clean with fresh decor throughout. However, the fridge door didn't close correctly without an extra push - needs replacing? Dishwasher very dated & noisy but worked OK. Plenty of glasses, crockery & utensils provided along with many extras such as freezerbags, tinfoil, cleaning products etc etc. Bedding & towels freshly laundered. The only real issue was the walk-in shower room which did not clear of condensation as the small & slow extractor fan is not adequate in size to clear condensaton after showers, as there was no window to open. Great to have off street parking although the space next to the wall/hedge is not sufficient size for a larger car - the hedge needs a good pruning back but I believe this is up to the building maintenance not the owners/agents? A visitors book would be a bonus to give recommendations & tips for pubs/restautants/tourist info etc for future visitors. We would use Island Escapes again & book this property again.

Perfect for dog owners and families visiting historic Castletown.
Seal Rock was exactly what we were looking for in our stay on the Isle of Man. Right by the sea, a short walk from shops and restaurants, bright, sunny and the ideal base for us all.

Wonderful
Thank you for having us to stay in your beautiful flat. It was perfect and we felt very much at home. It was quiet and comfortable and so close to the beach. We enjoyed the short walk to Castletown too. Thank you.
