Overview

Come and take part in an endurance challenge with a difference – an unforgettable ride from the Island’s most northern tip – the Point of Ayre - to one of the most southerly points on the landscape – the Sound.

The End 2 End Mountain Bike Challenge takes place annually in September and attracts cyclists from around the world.

The 75km course incorporates 1500 metres of climbing and a mixture of fast fire roads, sweeping moorland paths, country lanes and forest single-track.

Team this with stunning countryside and coastal views and you’ll soon see why this event attracts competitors from far and wide.

Top riders have completed the course in three hours but most participants take between four and six hours to cover the varied and demanding terrain.

Local spectators turn out in force to cheer on competitors along the route making this a true community event.

The Route

The End 2 End Mountain Bike Challenge starts at the Point of Ayre in the north of the Island and finishes at the Sound in the south of the Island.

Around 1700 riders are due to meet up on the start line and there are numerous points around the course where spectators can line up to show their support for the riders and watch the challenge unfold.

One of the best vantage points is in Ballaugh - the first checkpoint after the start line.
