Welcome to the Isle of Man

Port Erin

Port Erin HarbourPort Erin has been a popular holiday destination ever since Victorian times. Small wonder, for the town has an enviable setting on a magnificent sweep of sheltered sandy beach and is a walkers paradise with beautiful glens and coastal pathways.

Port Erin is the Steam Railway's southern terminus and this magnificent preserved vintage rail system will transport you to and from Douglas. Within the surrounds of the station is the excellent Railway Museum.

Port Erin is a popular departure point for charter boats to the Calf of Man, a bird sanctuary and nature reserve lying of the southernmost tip of the Isle of Man. Basking sharks, seals and a variety of whales and dolphins are regularly spotted in the area.

The town offers a range of shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as being home to the Erin Arts Centre, where the world famous Mananan International Festival of Music and the Arts is held every summer. During the remainder of the year many other productions are held in these intimate and very special surroundings - an experience not to be missed.
