TTXGP

Prove to the world that being green does not mean being slow…

TTXGP

TTXGP, the world's first zero carbon clean emission Superbike race will take place on 12th June 2009, on the world famous Isle of Man TT circuit creating huge international press interest. More than a typical motorbike race, TTXGP is a showcase for the next generation of motorsports. All the entrants have built unique prototype machines. The excitement that has been building around alternative forms of transport and clean energy consumption has been harnessed and pushed to the edge to produce a major, international sporting event. Whether you support electric, hydrogen or other forms of power trains; TTXGP is the global test bed redefining the rules. The regulations have been completely reworked to encourage innovations from the cutting edge on to the race circuit. Each team has redefined power trains, ergonomics and energy storage systems. TTXGP provides an opportunity to see these exciting machines close up and as well as stretched to their limits on a course that is one of the most challenging road races in the world. Innovative design plays a key role in performance.

Technology already exists to propel electric bikes to speeds over 160 miles per hour...milk floats on two wheels these machines are definitely not! TTXGP is helping bridge the perception of alternative forms of transport to the mass market whilst driving forward innovation and technology to meet demand for non polluting, clean motoring.

Its not just about global warming…The simple fact is oil is running out; we consume three barrels for every one we find and need to find alternative ways in which to travel. Competition is a highly effective test bed for new automotive technologies and stimulates the market. TTXGP facilitates potential solutions to the challenge and drives forward innovation.

“This is a way forward that could actually benefit people in terms of modes of transport in the future…Isle of Man TT has always been involved in innovation providing an opportunity for people to develop new technologies (TTXGP) is another step in this direction.” Tony Brown, Chief Minister, Isle of Man

“Racing improved the breed …the TTXGP improves technology and stimulates the market… and that is why we are involved with this project to bring the motorcycles of the future to the riders of today.” Chris Hodder, British Motorcycle Federation

This class is being supported by the following organisations: BMF, ACU, FIM, MIA, and the IET
