Gaiety Theatre
The Gaiety situated in the heart of Douglas, capital of the Isle of Man, has been home to the Island's premier drama and entertainment for over one hundred and six years. The Gaiety is one of the very few late Victorian ths to have survived intact. Designed by Frank Matcham, the undoubted King of Theatre Architects it has undergone a painstaking restoration and is now acclaimed as the finest theatre of it's type remaining in the British Isles.
The theatre is a live and vibrant performance space that welcomes to it's boards every spectrum of entertainment from Rock Concerts to Grand Opera and from Pantomime to high Drama. The theatre provides seating for 898 people and is used by conferences who wish to attend scheduled performances (with specific conference entertainment by private hire.)
The Matcham Suite located in the void of the Gallery can be used for small private buffet receptions. The theatre has two further bars at Dress Circle and Stalls level and is fully equipped with state of the art sound and light systems.
