We can now offer a large superbly equipped conference venue in conjunction with the other dozen conference venues on the Island which include hotels, academic venues and smaller purpose built meeting rooms.

Whilst the facilities and benefits which a destination can offer are of importance, the key factor in attracting a high percentage of Association conferences to a destination is through an invitation from a local ‘Conference Ambassador’.

The importance of the role played by Ambassadors and your ability to influence colleagues to hold a future meeting in the Isle of Man cannot be over emphasised.

It will be you who lead the way in winning a conference for the Isle of Man.

The Isle of Man: How can we help you

In recognition of the importance of the role of Conference Ambassadors, the Isle of Man Conference Service will offer you free and impartial advice on many aspects of organising a conference, from the initial stage of bidding to attract the event through to the successful hosting of the conference. Prior to attracting your conference we will:

• Assist in selecting a suitable conference venue.
• Provide information on the range of accommodation on the Island, as well as providing information on tour operators capable of booking travel and accommodation.
• Provide suggestions for the social programme and pre/post conference tours.
• Prepare a detailed proposal document for the selection committee
• Assist with a bid presentation on the Isle of Man, use of audio-visual material and the availability of a staff member to support the bid if required.
• Provide travel assistance with fares and accommodation for Ambassadors making an official bid where appropriate.
• Co-ordinate a site inspection on behalf of the decision-making committee providing complimentary hospitality where possible.

Once you have confirmed your conference we will:

• Provide contacts for local suppliers.
• Offer guidance with Civic Hospitality applications.
• Assist in appointing a Professional Conference Organiser or other support services, if required.
• Provide promotional support to encourage maximum attendance.
• Provide free delegate literature for Welcome Packs.
