The Gaiety situated in the heart of Douglas, capital of the Isle of Man, has been home to the Islands premier drama and entertainment's for the last one hundred years and is one of the very few late Victorian theatres to have survived intact. The Gaiety now a beautifully restored Victorian playhouse, designed by the highly reputed Frank Matcham, has undergone extensive works to re-instate the theatre back to its former Victorian appearance and ambience. The theatre is very much a live performing space welcoming in all spectrums of entertainment's to match the tastes of the Islands eager theatre going public.

The Gaiety Theatre celebrated its centenary in July 2000 with a performance of “The Telephone Girl”, which was the opening production on 16th July 1900.

The theatre can provide seating for 841 people, and can be used for concert evenings; either by booking tickets for a scheduled performance or for specific entertainment put on for the conference. The Matcham Suite located behind the Dress Circle can be used for small private functions where a buffet and drinks can be served. The theatre also has a second bar in the stalls for refreshments.
