Groudle Glen Railway & Sea Lion Rocks Tea Rooms
Just 2 miles north of Douglas is the Groudle Glen Railway which is owned and operated entirely by volunteers. Originally built in 1896, it was closed and scrapped in the 1960s. Since 1982 it has been fully restored by a group of dedicated volunteers who now run the line and the popular cliff top tea rooms at the Sea Lion Rocks Terminus.
The line offers a variety of motive power steam, diesel and electric plus the line’s original 1896 locomotive Sea Lion and a rake of restored coaches from the 1890s.
